Pizza Crust


Ingredients

  • 2½ Teaspoons Dry Yeast
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1½ Teaspoons Italian Seasoning (if desired)
  • 2 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons Water

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 400° F

Recipe is ideal for a bread machine, but can be made using a stand mixer with a dough hook.

Add all ingredients to your mixer in order given. Mix until dough forms a ball around the dough hook. Transfer dough into an oiled bowl, turning to coat dough. Place in warm area and cover to let rise until doubled, about an hour.

Divide dough in half and roll on floured surface to fit pan. Place on greased pizza pan, spread with sauce and add desired toppings.

I recommend home made pizza cheese: equal portions of home shredded Mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and Provolone cheese. Can use any cheeses desired.

Bake 18-20 mins or until crust is light brown. Watch so crust doesn’t burn.

Makes 2 thin or one med-thick crust.

NOTE: Can pre-bake crust to make a crispier crust, then add sauce and toppings and bake 12-15 mins. or until done.

Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Pepper
  • ¼ Teaspoon Basil
  • ⅛ Teaspoon Thyme
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Teaspoon Oregano
  • 2 Teaspoon Parmesan
  • 1 10 Ounce Can Tomato Puree

Directions

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Spread on top of prepared pizza crust and follow directions for baking.

Can substitute 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning for oregano, thyme, and basil.
