Chow Mein


Ingredients

  • 3-4 Stalks Celery
  • 1 2 Ounce Can Mushrooms or fresh sliced
  • 2 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
  • 1 16 Ounce Can Bean Sprouts, Drained
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch in ¼ Cup Cold Water
  • 6 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 2 Cup Thinly Sliced Chicken or Pork
  • 1 10½ Ounce Can Water Chestnuts

Directions

Brown raw meat in hot oil (if using leftovers, this isn’t necessary). Add soy sauce, water and bouillon; simmer 2 minutes. Add celery and onion; simmer 1 hour (minimum of 30 minutes). Add chestnuts, bean sprouts, and mushrooms; heat through. Add cornstarch and water to thicken.

Serve over rice and top with Chinese noodles.
