Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter
  • ¾ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2⅔ Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 8 Ounces Chocolate Chips

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350° F

Let the butter come to room temperature.

Prepare at least 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

In the bowl of a stand mixer cream together the butter and both sugars until completely smooth.

Add in vanilla, then eggs one at a time. Make sure to fully mix in one egg before adding the next.

In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients save for the chocolate chips. Sift.

With the stand mixer running, slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Stop mixing when no streaks of flour can be seen.

Remove the dough from the mixer and add in the chocolate chips. Stir with a spoon. This prevents the chips from being smashed into the dough.

Scoop the dough out onto one of the prepared baking sheets, about 6 cookies, and bake for 8-10 minutes.

While baking a batch, store the dough in the refrigerator and keep the unused baking sheet away from the oven so it remains room temperature. When one batch is done, switch to the cooled baking sheet and repeat the process.
